Woodford House is on the slopes of Table Mountain, looking right down onto the beach about 400 metres away or a ten minute walk. The promenade along the beach is strewn with popular restaurants, a supermarket and theatre. Just around the corner are the four famous cosy windless Clifton beaches, divided by beautiful big granite boulders. To the V&A Waterfront is seven and to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens fifteen kilometres.
Woodford House offers self-catering accommodation for up to 8 guests.
Children of all ages are welcome when you take the whole house. A cot is available. Children age 6 and older are welcome when you take one or more rooms, in which case a self help continental breakfast is included
WOODFORD HOUSE feels like home with a large lounge and a modern, open plan TV/family room/kitchen with a door to the laundry. Another door from the laundry and a sliding door from the family room lead to a central courtyard. This courtyard has only got a sea view through the family room windows. You can enjoy your breakfast in the kitchen, the lounge or the adjoining terrace, under the veranda at the pool and the barbeque area. All these places have panoramic sea and beach views and are except the kitchen more or less private. And you should see our sunsets on the wide open sea/ocean from these places. Often clear skies, sometimes beautiful orange cloud formations. And in winter, or summer, just sit and relax in the large paved courtyard under a double volume roof with a big skylight, gas fireplace and tropical plants all around you. In our mild winter the house really feels like home with its automatic under floor heating, especially in the bathrooms.
WOODFORD HOUSE HAS GOT FOUR SPACIOUS DOUBLE BEDROOMS WITH FOUR LUXURY BATHROOMS, EACH WITH TOILET, BASIN, BATH AND SEPARATE SHOWER.
DOWNSTAIRS: Bedroom 4 with two single beds and bathroom en-suite has got a door and window to the courtyard, while the entrance is from the hall. It does not need air-conditioning and is the only room in the house without a sea view. For the business person this room is very private, feels away from the rest of the house and is comfortably furnished with a big working table, a computer using the 32"TV screen and HP printer/scanner. This allows you to fax as well.
UPSTAIRS: All three bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 have got panoramic sea and beach views and you can enjoy these views from your bed looking down onto the sea through our large low down windows. All three bedrooms have air-conditioning.
The main bedroom 1 has got a double bed and bathroom en-suite with a second basin and a bidet. It also has got a small kitchenette with a bar fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facility. It is in fact a complete unit on its own with the best views of the whole house. Bedroom 2 has got two single beds with its bathroom next door about two metres away. Bedroom 3 has got a double bed and bathroom en-suite.
Electronic lock-up safe, hairdryer and telephone in each bedroom. The telephones are on a card system for outgoing calls. We sell these cards at cost.Linen, towels including beach towels provided.
Satellite DStv with selected channels like M-net in all four bedrooms. On request we can supply more channels at cost. A big Sony 32" LCD screen in bedrooms 1,3 and 4 and big Sony 29"flat screen in bedroom 2. DVD player in bedroom 1. Satellite DStv with virtually all channels in the family room with Sony 42" plasma screen and Sony surround sound theatre system with DVD player. For the kids Sony Play Station 2 ( optional DVD player ) with games. Radio in each bedroom.
ADSL permanent wireless internet connection free of charge in the whole house. Laptops are welcome.Washing machine and tumble dryer upstairs close to the bedrooms.Kitchen with granite tops and fridge, double oven, microwave, toaster and coffee maker.
Laundry with granite tops and large dishwasher. Under floor heating in TV/ family room / kitchen, laundry, bedroom 4 and each bathroom.
Heated swimming pool for all seasons and water up to 30 degrees centigrade. Small kids swim forever. Relaxing on a beach chair while watching the sea / reading a book and swimming in the warm water can be very nice during midday of a sunny Cape Town winters day of 16 to 20 degrees.
Electronic access keypad system on the front door.
Single garage with remote control and off-street parking.Baby sitting and extra cleaning services available.
