Nestled below the majestic Ncaga Mountain, overlooking the activities of a working farm, lies the Whistling Duck Farm cottage. The cottage and its surroundings cater for many needs - whether you are looking for peace and tranquility or outdoor adventure - there is much on offer.

This luxury self-catering cottage offers you the opportunity to break away from your daily routine and relax in a country environment, this is definitely a place to restore your senses and revive your soul.

The cottage is situated in the heart of Lüneburg, which was established as a German missionary post in 1854 - today Lüneburg has an active farming community, is home to the oldest German school in Northern Natal, boasts an excellent butchery, a unique farm cash store and two beautiful churches which are well worth a visit.

Family: The kids can explore the farmyard with chickens, pigs, horses and cattle, mom can relax and order dinner, lunch or breakfast to be delivered at the cottage.Dad can fish and explore to his hearts content.We also have a swimming pool.

Great Outdoors: Vast farmlands in which to hike, bird, horse ride, mountain bike and fish. A large variety of indigenous veld flowers are found here as well as a high number of bird species.

Pets Permitted: Pets are allowed by prior arrangement.

We had a delightful time at the Whistling Duck cottage. Wonderful location and wonderful facilities. Ideal for young children with the trampoline and jungle gym and the farm animals just next door.

The best B and B we visited so far. Juliane made us feel right at home and the supper and breakfast she prepared was absolutely superb. If you love nature and animals, this is the perfect place to stay. Thank you Juliane,and Boris for making our stay an unforgettable one.

"What a wonderful place to stay! The welcome we received from Juliane and her staff were warm and friendly. The cottage is absolutely lovely, clean, neat, tidy and very well-equipped. Thanks Juliane for the most delicious supper you cooked us (we could not take food along as we were travelling on a motorcycle). What a lovely and well situated cottage. Nothing but the sounds of the country side, plenty of birds and hiking possibilities. Juliane and Heinz are adorable. The local government seems to have re-introduced the old Voortrekker roads, so it is advisable to have a modern ox wagon to get to this destination
