We have just returned from our Sth African holiday. We had 3 nights at the Whalesong. The rooms were clean and cool, the staff friendly and efficient. The high light ofour stay was the Valentine night dinner, which was superb and obviously very popular with many locals.

A bit about this place
The call of the whale in Plettenberg Bay
Come and experience whales, dolphins, seals and other marine life first hand in one of South Africa’s most elegant coastal towns on the Garden Route.
Home to jet setters and the rich and famous, Plettenberg Bay, or ‘Plett’ as it is known locally, is the ‘jewel in the South African tourism’s crown’.
Whalesong is Plettenberg Bay accommodation at its finest. We offer 24 beautiful thatched roofed rooms, ethnic-style décor and art work and your own bay view terrace from which to see and hear the magnificent ocean that washes our coastline.
Swim with dolphins – South Africans and visitors alike are delighted in Plett or ‘Bitou’ as it is now called, by customary, unsolicited visits from dolphins that join bathers for a swim.
Plettenberg Bay is encircled by indigenous forests with mountains to the north. Knysna, one of the Garden Route’s other famous towns, is only 20 minutes away and the Tsitsikamma nature reserve is a short drive to the east.
