Walkerbouts Inn – Rhodes is a fully licensed, pet friendly, spacious home-from-home with six en-suite bedrooms located in the historic village of Rhodes in the Barkly East district of the Eastern Cape Highlands. We pride ourselves on home-cooked meals – “kook-kos” using as far as possible, locally produced meat, vegetables and herbs.

The Highlands are an outdoor paradise with access to more than 200km of fly-fishing within an hour’s drive of the village as well as guided rock are tours, 4x4 routes, Alpine flowers in summer, snow, skiing in winter, horse-riding, mountain biking and much more.

Walkerbouts has five en-suite bedrooms and a Honeymoon suite, rondawel in the flower garden all complete with panel heaters and beds with electric blankets to ward off the winter chill. Four of the rooms ablutions have showers, two have showers in the bath. All have double beds, some of which have one or two single beds for families overnighting, especially in winter, en-route to Tiffindell. Rates are offered on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis out of season and Bed and Breakfast in season. Children under two years stay free and under 12 years of age: 30% discount.

These are wonderfully friendly people. We had two very enjoyable evenings in their pub with Penny as bartender. Bruce fed us extremely well and the overall ambience is very relaxed and comfortable. We would happily go back.

The staff were so friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. They even lent us a 4x4 for my husband to get to a good fishing spot! The food was outstanding, very personalized, and made us feel at ease always. Felt like family when we left!
