Description

At the edge of an ancient river valley, shielded by a dune of red desert sand, the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge is situated in one of the most beautiful locations of the surrounding territory. All 24 en-suite rooms and suites are tastefully decorated and equipped with air-conditioning, electricity and a small verandah with a view into the valley.

Comfortably accessible via short paths, the restaurant and reception building is situated in the middle of the Lodge. Aside from the restaurant and reception, the lodge also offers various spaces for your very individual relaxation; a lounge, bar, small library with a reading room and broadband Internet connection, as well as a terrace with a small, very special refreshing pool.

Vogelstrausskluft CampgroundX 1

The Vogelstrausskluft Campground is located directly on the edge of the dry pan. Sheltered on three sides by small hills and a red sand dune, the campground offers a spectacular view over the dried out lake to the north and is accessible from the main access road - no 4x4 is necessary. Each of the four campsites has its own large barbecue area, water and electricity, and can accommodate up to 10 tents around a pre-set fireplace. The campsite features four single barbecues, four electricity supply points, eight toilets, seven showers, a scullery, and plenty of space for tents and caravans. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided at the lodge for an additional fee, by prior arrangement, and of course all activities offered at Vogelstrausskluft can also be booked if you stay at the campground.
