Centrally located in the suburbs of Richards Bay on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, Ushaka Bed & Breakfast is ideal for both business travellers and holidaymakers. The accommodation is set in a quiet area with inland views and a large garden that teems with bird life and provides a tranquil backdrop to the ambience of spacious and comfortable accommodation.
Guests can choose between a Family Room and Double Room with en-suite bathrooms. All the rooms air-conditioned and furnished with double or queen-size beds. Each room has a TV with DStv, tea and coffee facilities as well as a bar fridge. Rooms are equipped for self-catering and serviced daily with laundry services available on request. Guests can also relax by the pool with a smaller pool for children. The lapa incorporates a lounge area and private braai.
Richards Bay offers excellent recreational facilities and visitors can enjoy art galleries, fishing, beachcombing, bird watching, surfing, swimming, canoeing and some wonderful drives in and around the area. One such example is inland from Gingindlovu to Eshowe via the Nkwalini Valley to Empangeni. Dlinza Forest Nature Reserve offers 250 hectares of forest with walking trails and an aerial boardwalk.
The Enseleni Nature Reserve is a small reserve with rare bird species perfect for bird lovers. A number of larger mammals such as giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, impala, waterbuck, bushpig, duikers and even hippos and crocodiles also occupy the reserve. For the golfers, the Empangeni Country Club offers an 18-hole golf course.
