Tygerview Guesthouse

Swak, ek kan nie my ervaring by Tygervier as anders beskryf nie. Met aankoms moes my 2 klein dogtertjies in yskoue water stort, dit was toevallig koud en renerig in die Kaap, die stort deur was stukkend, ek het seker 'n halfuur probeer om die opsigter te kry, nadat hy met ons aankoms gese het hys net bo ons ons kan net klop as iets fout is. Die stort kort heelwat aandag, veral die krane. Die vertrek lyk nie skoon nie, en is bitterlik beknop met so baie beddens daarin. Defnitief nie 'n blyplek vir mense met kinders of smaak nie.

I personally welcomed the De kocks on arrival and showed them the room and facilities.I also informed them that I had an appointment to attend and the guest house was routed to my cellphone if they needed to contact me.At no stage was I informed either by phone or personally or at the guesthouse of any problems .Furthermore I was at all times at the guesthouse throughout their stay except for I hour to attend to the matter previously mentioned.Our guesthouse has two 150 litre geysers one on each side serving three rooms. Other guests accommodated on the same side did not report any problems with hot water and to date no guest has had water problems .As regards the shower door I found that after the guests had left that the shower door which has three sliding sections , had been pulled off its rollers and not slid back on exiting the shower.On further inspection most of the sheets and duvets from the childrens beds had been thrown on the floor as well as the towels and all these items had been trampled on .I take full responsibility for my absence for a short time but did ensure that I could be contacted.I have now ensured that there will always be a staff member available at all times. I do believe that the shower door was not correctly operated by the small children or supervised by their parents.There is no doubt that this was mainly a communication problem which could easily been solved and I have instructed my staff to communicate more frequently with our guests to ensure that all problems are attended to immediately and to give guests more information as to operation and working of all items in our guesthouse.

Bedding not ironed, not sure if it had been washed. En-suite shower, no window or extraction fan, mould on ceiling, towels stay wet and smell, bedroom smelt of mould. Peter advised access to fridge-freezer and DSTV. Fridge is size of small microwave and six double bedrooms share the fridge. Microwave not working! Kettle in disgusting state with lid broken. (I had to buy a kettle). Kitchen (if you can call it that) in passage, no access to sink for water to fill kettle or wash a cup etc. Yet house rules advise that you are responsible for keeping this area clean. DStv - you watch what Peter is watching. Advert states - extra charge for breakfast, which was not available. Not a pleasant three-day stay.

The stay at Tygerview Guesthouse was not what I expected, to be honest. I must admit I was disappointed.

Kamer gerieflik, netjies en voldoen aan die vereistes. Skuifdeur na badkamer sowel as stort se deur kort dringend aandag. Buite (tuin) skep ook swak indruk - nie netjies.

No frills. Green room is ok.
