Description
Tussen die Maroelas means "between the Maroela trees" and the property is beautifully shaded by these wonderful trees. Visitors are truly guests in the home of Susan and Eric Venter, while having the privacy and freedom they require.
Our rooms are very individual, each with a different colour scheme and design. Four of the rooms have their own en-suite bathroom, while the other two rooms share a bathroom. Each room is furnished with twin beds, a ceiling fan and a radio. Guests also have use of their own kitchen equipped with a fridge, a microwave oven and crockery. Milk, juice, biscuits and rusks are also provided to make guests feel more at home.
The lounge is comfortably furnished and is equipped with a TV with DStv and a small dining area is also provided. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 9 am, but the rooms can also be rented on a self-catering basis - please enquire accordingly. Dinner is available on request at an additional fee and the rooms are serviced daily.
The lovely landscaped gardens offer secluded nooks where you can relax and read or write, or simply meditate. The unusual splash pool area is ideal for cooling off on hot summer days, and a shaded barbecue grill with seats and table are also provided - great for daytime or evening relaxation. The garden is a haven for a wide variety of birdlife and peaceful niches beneath the spreading trees lend themselves to the delights of ornithology in a relaxed setting. The owners are avid bird-watchers and their home is a haven for our feathered friends, so bring binoculars and notebooks. Over 70 species have been spotted in the trees, including Purple Crested loerie, Trumpeter hornbill, Yellow-Rumped Tinker barbet, gymnogene and Wattle-Eyed flycatcher.
This privately owned guest house is centrally situated in Meerensee, Richards Bay, on the North Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Tussen die Maroelas is conveniently located close to the main roads, beaches, shopping centres, lake, forest, golf course and country club, and is within easy reach of all the region’s fabulous attractions.
