Our tranquil country retreat is ideally situated for exploring the beauty of the valley and its majestic mountains, as well as grand wine estates, museums, heritage architecture and street culture. Most restaurants, shops, galleries and other places of interest are only a short walk away.

The Cape Dutch Quarter accommodates its guests in one of four neighbouring properties and caters for visitors wanting top end, ‘Four-star’ B&B/self catering, as well as travellers looking for ‘Three-Star’, value for money accommodation.
Tulbagh Country House is the jewel in the Quarters crown, sleeping 12 people in 5 suites. We offer guests 4 luxury King-sized en-suite rooms, a 2-room family-suite and a single room. Guests enjoy the luxury of Old World charm and experience grand Cape Dutch living, surrounded by antiques and original art works. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home in the lounge and old farm style kitchen. Rooms are priced from R600 to R800 per day. Single room from R300 per day.
The Little Courtyards is a beautiful Cape Dutch house that sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms on a self catering or B&B basis. The cottage has 2 Queen-sized rooms, as well as a twin room off the peaceful garden courtyard. The second courtyard has a private splash pool and sun deck. The house has a fully equipped kitchen/sitting area with an open fireplace, as well as a lounge/dining room. The self-catering tariff starts at R1250 a day for the whole house or R500 per room per night.
The Wagon Shed is our luxury self-catering unit that sleeps 2 in a Queen-sized four poster bed with an open plan bed/living room, kitchenette and en suite bath/shower room. B&B is optional, priced from R450 per night. The Wagon Shed enjoys a private veranda/garden and off street parking, and guests have full use of the Quarter’s pool and facilities.
The Tulbagh Travellers Lodge is our new 3-Star budget accommodation that sleeps 12 in 4 double, triple, twin & bunkrooms, all with private en-suite bath/shower room. Guests share a large open-plan lounge and kitchen area, and benefit from full use of the Quarter’s pool, large roof terrace and garden.

Historical & Cultural:
The manor house was built in 1809 in the classic Cape Dutch 'H' shape. It is the largest house in Church Street.
