About The Cape Dutch Quarter
The Cape Dutch Quarter is a portfolio of heritage properties offering a range of B&B and self-catering accommodation options in the heart of old Tulbagh village. Celebrated for the beauty of its setting and its architectural and historical significance, Tulbagh is also famous for its wine and the earthquake that put this little town on the map once again.
Our tranquil country retreat is ideally situated for exploring the beauty of the valley and its majestic mountains, as well as grand wine estates, museums, heritage architecture and street culture. Most restaurants, shops, galleries and other places of interest are only a short walk away.
The Cape Dutch Quarter accommodates its guests in one of four neighbouring properties and caters for visitors wanting top-end, 4 Star accommodation, as well as travellers looking for 3 Star, value-for-money accommodation.
Tulbagh Country House is the jewel in the Quarters crown, sleeping 12 people in five suites. We offer guests 4 luxury king-size en-suite rooms, a two-room family suite and a single room. Guests enjoy the luxury of Old World charm and experience grand Cape Dutch living, surrounded by antiques and original art works. Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home in the lounge and old farm-style kitchen.
The Little Courtyards is a beautiful Cape Dutch house that sleeps six people in three bedrooms. The cottage has two queen-size rooms, as well as a twin room off the peaceful garden courtyard. The second courtyard has a private splash pool and sun deck. The house has a fully equipped kitchen-sitting area with an open fireplace, as well as a lounge-dining room.
The Wagon Shed is our luxury self-catering unit that sleeps two in a queen-size four-poster bed with an open-plan bed and living room, a kitchenette and an en-suite bathroom.
