Acacia Bush Lodge (previously called Torwood) is a 26-bed bush camp about 10 minutes from central Pietermaritzburg and the Liberty Mall. Comfortable accommodation is offered in six, three-bedded and two, four-bedded air-conditioned cottages. Each is fully equipped with high-quality appliances including stove, microwave, fridge and a full range of quality cooking utensils and crockery. All linen is provided – bring only your food. On the TV SABC and Mnet is offered.
Each cottage also has a private veranda and its own braai facilities, or picnic in the shade around our unique rock swimming pool.
Options and services
We also offer the option of continental breakfasts delivered to your cottage.
Each cottage is fully serviced excepting on Sundays.

Firelighters, firewood and cool drinks are available during office hours.
A variety of games including Volley Ball, cricket, swing ball and board games are also available.
Group Bookings
Acacia caters well for large groups as well as individual travellers looking for peace and quiet. We offer substantial discounts for group bookings.
The lodge is owned by Andrew St.Pierre and Gwynn White. Andrew is also a bit of a personality, albeit only in the world of 4x4s. He is probably South Africa’s most well respected and recognisable 4x4 guru, having written 13 books on the subject that are sold all over the world and he has recently hosted his own TV show on the subject. The complete range of his books, maps and DVDs are available at the reception.

Each is individually decorated in African themes and has three single beds with either a bath or shower en-suite. Sleeps 3
SINGLE BUSINESS PERSONS
(single person) R285 per chalet WEEKDAYS ONLY including Sunday to Thursday.
Not available during dates over special events: e.g. Duzi, Royal Show, PMB Airshow, Comrades, Midmar Mile etc.
WEEKENDS
R420 per 3-bed Friday and Saturday.
R440 per 4-bed cottage Friday and Saturday.
WEEKDAY GROUPS
R380 per cottage weekdays. Price does not include weekend and dates for special events
LARGE GROUPS - EXTENDED STAYS
For larger group bookings please contact us for a quote. Large reductions are offered for large groups staying more than five night, especially during the week.
ADDITIONAL CHARGES
3-bed chalets, bedding for (child) sharing. Additional charge R20.00 per additional bed, per night
Tea and coffee is provided in your cottage at no charge.
BREAKFASTS (optional)
Consists of choice of cereals, juice, fruit, yoghurt a muffin and preserves. (subject to minor change according to availability) R25.00 per person.
