Welcome to Tonnelkop Self-catering Units and Camping Site, set in the splendour of the Klein Karoo on South Africa's Garden Route between Oudtshoorn and De Rust.

We also now offer camping facilities. Safe, fenced-in accommodation, suitable for tented camping, unfortunately not for caravans. There are barbecue facilities available, as well as a kitchen with washing-up facilities. Each camping spot has an electrical access point, and there is an ablution block with toilets, showers and basins.

All the rooms have fans, except for the bathroom, a TV with M-Net, and a lock-up garage with parking space for two cars. Relax and enjoy the bright stars and silence of the Karoo. You can make use of the swimming pool and playground for children at the main premises.

Separate shower and toilet for each unit. Separate kitchen equipped with a stove and oven, microwave, freezer, fridge and braai facilities. In addition ,there is ice and cold water bottles. Linen and towels are supplied for all units.

All units have air-conditioning. Security, safe parking and electrified fence around the property, which is floodlit all night. There is a free playground with trampoline, swings and slides available for children, as well as fingerboard, a dart board, see-saw and more.

We were selected as a semi-finalist in the category Self-catering Cottages and Chalets by the AA Travel Guides American Express Accommodation Award. Pets are welcome, there is a safe, fenced-in area around the house and parking area.

Pure Genot is situated about 100 metres from the Office. It is private, with a spectacular view into the valley and the surrounding mountains, called the Rooikoppe. It consists of four rooms, one with a double bed, one with two single beds, one with a single bed, and one with three quarter bed. A second bathroom has been added outside of the unit, and consists of a shower, toilet and basin. Living area, separate kitchen and one bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet. All the rooms have fans, except for the bathroom. TV with M-Net. Lock-up garage with parking space for two cars. Relax and enjoy the bright stars and silence of the Karoo. You can make use of the swimming pool and playground for children at the main premises.

It was a wonderful and peaceful venue, a break away in the heart of the Little Karoo. The host was very friendly and kind without being obtrusive. The scenery and views from Tonnelkop to the surrounding landscape was very idyllic, with mountains, fields of green and the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.
