Tirool Camping and Self-catering Chalets

Tirool Camping and Self-catering Chalets is an exquisite and ultimate holiday destination for those in search of an authentic African experience. If you are an outdoors and nature loving individual in search of an off-the-beaten-track experience, Tirool is for you.

We offer excellent camping facilities and self-catering chalets that would add more fun and value to your experience of the Namib Desert. We have three campsites with an ablution facility with hot showers, basins and flushing toilets. Each Campsite has a wall for privacy and protection against the elements, as well as a braai/barbecue area with a washbasin.

We have a one-bedroom chalet and a two-bedroom chalet. Both chalets have fully equipped kitchens with fridges, hot plates and cutlery. There are living areas and braai/barbecue areas. The chalets have twin beds, bedding and towels are provided, as well as bathrooms with showers. Hot water is provided by a traditional donkey boiler. Lights are solar powered and electricity sockets are for operating and charging light electronic devices only.

Tirool Camping and Self-catering Chalets is situated in the heart of the Namib Desert, 45 km north of Aus and 55 km south of Helmeringhausen. It is the gateway to the greater Namib Naukluft Park and Sossusvlei area. The area boasts superb Namibian scenery in which you can enjoy nature walks, hikes and bird watching. Tirool borders onto the Namib Naukluft Park by 30 km, with its dune belt in the west and the magnificent Tiras Mountains in the east. All of these areas offer amazing photography opportunities.
