Owner Thys Du Toit, welcomes you to enjoy and experience real South African farm hospitality in his charming country home. Set in a peaceful garden, abundant with bird life and panoramic views of the Swartberg Mountains, this small, exclusive guesthouse offers a relaxed and refined atmosphere, reminiscent of a bygone era.

Creating an ambience of rustic country charm and warmth en-suite bedrooms are luxuriously and elegantly decorated, while thoughtful touches and attention to detail ensures a special romantic stay. All bedrooms open onto beautiful gardens with breath-taking views of the valley. As our guest, you will be treated to a farm tour around the farm where you will be able to experience baby ostriches from 1 week old, up to the fully grown birds, just 14 months old.

Farm tours take place daily at 16h30 from August to April. Cherished memories will be kept sacred as your host pamper you with romantic candlelight dinners and our special Karoo Cuisine. As our guests you will enjoy a full English breakfast on the patio while being delighted by the sights and sounds of chirping birds and shimmering fountain. We enjoyed the good friendly service at Thylitshia and the excellent dinner that was served. The rooms were comfortable and very roomy and the extra touches such as bath robes added to our experience. The location was relaxing. It was good to be able to sit by the pool and enjoy the garden.

The hosts were welcoming and the dinner was good. The visit to the ostrich farm was interesting. We felt the ensuite bedroom and swimming pool were tired and needed some attention.

Quiet location set in the lovely Karoo countryside. Friendly host who did everything she could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Great suggestions of what to do with our spare day and super authentic food.
