Spectacular beach lodge
Thonga ranks high on my list for a spectacular beach lodge, situated in beautifully untouched surrounds. The staff were professional and attentive. Our personal requests were taken seriously and adhered to beyond expectations. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing birthday weekend.

Set on the pristine shores of the Maputaland coast, this luxury lodge is the ideal place to discover one of the last unspoilt and undeveloped wilderness beaches left on the African continent. Mabibi is a magical place of tranquil swimming bays and snorkelling reefs, coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Its crystal clear, warm waters offer unparalleled snorkeling and fantastic offshore scuba diving. Nestled in a secluded bay, Mabibi, on the Maputaland coast. Thonga Beach Lodge is situated in the heart of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, an internationally recognized World Heritage Site. It is the first private concession to have been granted by the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park Authority. 25 km North of Sodwana Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Access The lodge can be reached by 2 wheel drive vehicle until the last one hour, where we have a collection point. Guests are then transferred in open 4x4 vehicles on the forested dune roads to the lodge. There are two collection times from the 2-wheel drive parking: 12h00 or 15h00. ACTIVITIES The following activities are available at an additional charge. Please note they are dependent on weather and availability: 1 Sept 2006-31 Aug 2007 1st Scuba Dive R350.00 p.p. Includes: Free Cylinder, weight belt, 12 litre aluminium, and 10 litre steels. Excludes: Diving equipment, which is available for hire at the lodge. Equipment Rates: quoted per day valid until 31 August 2007 Full Gear: R200,BCD: R50, Regulator:R50, Wetsuits: R50, Fins: R25, Mask: R25 2nd Scuba Dive (and all dives thereafter) R300.00 p.p. Open Ocean Experience R275.00 p.p. Turtle Tracking . November to March R275.00 p.p. Mabibi Sea Spa offers a wealth of seaweed treatments, facials and massages.
