We had 4 rooms for one night. Rooms were clean on arrival. One bathroom had a leaking roof however the door falling off its hinges was unexpected. Fridge did not work in another room. Lights needs to be fixed. Food at restaurant was fantastic, highly recommended. Poor bar service as only limited stock was available, ie: 1 can of fanta, two cans of sprite etc.. Poor lady runs the bar and service to the restaurant so don't expect speedy service. All very friendly. Few minor things that need to be addressed to make an nice stay a good one.

Rooms were rustic, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The meals at the restaurant were proper Karoo comfort food, generously portioned and well priced.

Overall relative nice overnight stay. Few areas need attention. Restaurant very nice.

The Rooms were not ready when we arrived, we could only book in at 16:30. The TV and aircon in room 9 didn't work and there was no kettle in room 8. There was coffee but no milk. Other than that, it was clean and comfortable and the food was very nice and fresh.

Of all the many things to do and see in Nieu-Bethesda, the Owl House grabs first place. Once you’ve ticked off the surreal and quirky home of Helen Martin’s, lace up your walking shoes and do something different. Follow the quaint network of...
