The St. James is located along the False Bay coastline overlooking the trendy and vibrant fishing village of Kalk Bay with magnificent views across False Bay and the Indian Ocean. This cosmopolitan harbourside village attracts locals and visitors all year round. Fresh fish can be brought from the local fisherman and the harbour itself offers a number of excellent seafood restaurants from rustic local cuisine to fine dining experiences. Kalk Bay Main Road is a hive of novel antique and boutique style shops, deli’s and art galleries, all within a 5 minute walk from The St. James. The St. James has two tidal pools in front of it, ideally suited for swimming in the warm waters of False Bay. It has easy access to Fish Hoek, Simonstown, Boulders Beach and Cape Point and there are many walking and hiking trails up the magnificent mountains that tower over the retreat. The St. James is a grand seaside retreat, built and owned by mining magnates. It is over 100 years old, with wood paneling throughout that originated from an old shipwreck. It has six spectacular rooms, 4 suites and 2 superior doubles, all of which are en-suite and equipped with 5 star facilities and amenities. There is a large swimming pool with surrounding tanning deck for those that wish to lap up the sun, relax and unwind. One of the unique features of The St. James is that it is completely protected from the prevailing summer winds and it has the beautiful warm seas of the False Bay coastline – perfect for those keen on swimming and soaking up the sun. The St. James is also one of the best view points for watching the many whales that now proliferate in False Bay.
