Description
The Old Jail bed and breakfast is a historical building from 1880 and was a jail until the 1950s. It has changed hands numerous times until its new owners purchased it and subsequently beautifully and lovingly restored and changed it into a luxury bed and breakfast.
The Old Jail lies on the peaceful and quiet outskirts of town in the small Karoo town of Willowmore. Beautifully landscaped gardens surround the building, the interior yards giving a feel of peace and tranquility, of being somehow removed and protected from the heat and dryness and vastness of the beautiful Karoo. This exceptionally beautiful Victorian building comprises three individually decorated suites, namely the Female Cell, Awaiting Trial Cell and the Hospital Room, each with their own private courtyard.
The reception and lounge area is also our art gallery where we display an impressive collection of mostly local artists and some unique pieces of antiques. Most of our collection is for sale. Breakfast is either served in the main courtyard or in the art gallery, depending on weather conditions, and on special requests dinner may be prepared and enjoyed together with the owners, Karen and Oleg.
