The Gorge Private Game Lodge and Spa is nestled in an unspoilt part of South Africa’s South Coast region of KwaZulu-Natal, the majestic Oribi Gorge. Situated only 32 km from Port Shepstone, it offers one of the most spectacular natural wonders of our diverse country.
Referred to as the photographer and nature lover's paradise, it has been carefully positioned to afford guests access to 5,000 hectares of Oribi Flats prime land in the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. Only one and a half hour’s drive from Durban makes us the ideal accommodation for any honeymoon, anniversary or special day destination.
Our exclusive, luxury villas are built on the edge of the impressive sandstone cliffs offering spectacular views of the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. The chalets provide an unsurpassed experience. There are five spacious 81 m² chalets, all built on 14 metre columns elevated three to four metres off the ground to minimise the impact on the environment. The main structure and dome roof have been built from concrete while the walls have a natural rock cladding to blend with the sandstone cliffs of the gorge. The interior décor blends ultra-modern state-of-the-art gadgets with a touch of Africa, and each chalet has its own indoor and private outdoor shower overlooking the gorge. The splendid view hundreds of metres below could also be enjoyed from the large quartz stone bath while sipping a Martini. All chalets are fitted with Caesarstone quartz surface vanities and mahogany furnishings in the large dressing rooms, and are fitted with an air-conditioners, minibars, digital safes, hairdryers, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a 74 cm LCD TV with a full bouquet of DStv channels and a DVD player. In addition, a laundry service and room service are available on request.
