Baberton is such a nice place, so the guesthouse can only improve your stay. We had a wonderful time. We flew to the annual Fly-in and air show at Baberton. What I like about this place is the owner’s involvement with the guests. Soon we became friends and they offered to take us to and from the airfield. It was clean and cheerful.
People were pleasant
Our room very basic, don't like curtains for bathroom door. No bedside table or light.
Dinner.....just a main course, no starter or dessert...seemed surprised when we asked.
Breakfast was OK. No Marmalade...didn't know what it was.
I am sure they will improve as time goes on.

This charming old Guesthouse is set in a tropical garden and offers very comfortable on-suite rooms with hospitality trays, as well as a cozy pub for refreshments and a thatch lapa with BBQ facilities. Relax by the swimming pool or on the veranda overlooking the garden and pond, with the a view of the mountains in the background.
Breakfast or a Lunchpack is served, and Dinner can be arranged on request. A home away from home atmosphere and excellent service will make your stay with us a special one.
We also hire out dual purpose motorcycles and can arrange for 4x4 trips into the surrounding mountains. Nearby activities include quad bike rides, hiking, museums, Chimp Eden, Game Drives, Nature Reserves, Gold Mine Tours & Gold Panning and Microlight flights, just to mention a few.
The Gold Nugget Guesthouse is within walking distance of the Barberton CBD and about 40km from Nelspruit CBD or 45km from the new Mbombela 2010 Soccer Stadium. Barberton is en-route to the Kruger Park and Mozambique and right next to Swaziland's northern border.
We are Motorcycle, Children, Pet and Gay friendly and speak English, German/Swiss and some Afrikaans.
