Welgedacht Game Reserve - The Bush Camp

Description

Just an hour north-east of Johannesburg and half an hour from Pretoria, lies Welgedacht Private Game Reserve. Nestled between the Bobbejaans mountains and straddling the Boekenhoutspruit, the reserve forms part of the Dinokeng Game Reserve, an initiative by local government and Blue IQ to create Gauteng’s only Big 5 game reserve.

The Bush Camp runs off solar electricity and gas-heated water. We have a main entertainment area where guests can get together and enjoy braais and socials. This area houses the kitchen, dining room and lounge with leather-clad couches.

Relaxing

If you want to relax and recharge, this is just the place to be. You must love nature and be able to cope without power. The lantern idea from Concoll glass was really good. Also received some firewood and a daily visit from the owners. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
Its Good

I really enjoy the idea and concept behind welgedacht, that being the expansion of the nature reserves in South Africa. I had a good time, as I was with my best friend. It was a little to natural/basic for me however. Also the dishwashing area can be inside the ... more

Thank you kindly for a great weekend. We really appreciated the tranquillity and the friendliness of our hosts! We would definitely return!
Unsatisfactory

The unit that we were allocated was not clean, full of dust. My husband and I expected a unit with a double bed, but the unit had to single beds that we have to put together. The is no bustbin to throw away things.
