The Beachhouse

Description

Only the beach lies between you and the Atlantic. Port Nolloth is known for its long pristine beaches and its picturesque fishing and diamond harbor.

Our home is one of the original wood and corrugated iron houses shipped in from Europe in the late eighteen hundreds, later bricked and plastered on the outside whilst preserving the original character of the interior.

The spacious lounge leads onto the twelve-seater dining room through antique double doors, both with sea views. The large, fully equipped kitchen has a Smeg gas stove, a five-plate electric oven and an eight-seater table. The house has a separate scullery with a washing machine, a dishwasher, a tumble-dryer, a microwave and a double-door fridge-freezer.

The main bedroom with sea views has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet. The second bedroom has a double bed while the third bedroom has a double bed and two single beds. There is one further bathroom and a separate toilet. The house sleeps eight but more can be accommodated. The veranda features a built-in braai and a 10-seater table.

Our house is furnished with a combination of modern and antique styles. There are big comfortable couches and an antique dining room. The suites and side boards are decorated in Burmese teak and walnut. This home with its unique position and wrap-around veranda allows you to enjoy spectacular 180-degree views of the harbor and beaches - the perfect place to watch the sunset, dolphins and whales.

A separate cottage is also available, as shown in the pictures 10 and 11, consisting of a fully equipped kitchen-braai room. The kitchen has a small two-plate stove with an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The lounge has a sleeper couch and the double bedroom has an en-suite shower.

Further luxuries include the use of a paddle ski and several teenage-size wetsuits for crawfishing. All linen and beach towels are supplied. Service is by arrangement at R100.00 per day.
