The Anker is situated in the province of the Free State. It is surrounded by lovely farms and mountains. Here you can switch off completely and forget about rush-hour traffic and deadlines. The tree-lined dirt roads, simple Karoo-style cottages and pomegranate and quince trees give The Anker a tranquil feel.
We have three self-catering rooms. The Karoo Room has twin beds in one room and a single bed in another, as well as a full separate bathroom. The Lavender Room has a double bed with a full separate bathroom with a double shower. The Ocean Room has one double bed and a single bed, with a separate bathroom with bath. All rooms are self-catering and included use of the front outside area with braai. Breakfast is available on request.
Philippolis is a lovely village for those who want to escape from the city for a few days. Enjoy silence, closeness to nature, stargazing, birdwatching, no traffic, old-fashioned tranquility and friendliness in this beautiful Free State town.

25 fruit trees: peach, pear, apricot, plum, apple, grape, and pomegranate; in-season you are more than welcome to stroll down into the bottom garden and help yourself.
