Thanda Nani Game Lodge is an exclusive game lodge located on a 7,000-hectare private game reserve just 10 minutes east from the Malelane entrance to the Kruger National Park. Thanda Nani offers guest a choice of 26 Double Chalets and two Luxury Chalets set in a natural forest.

The Double Chalets offer one room furnished with two single beds that can be converted into a double bed, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower only. The Luxury Chalets are furnished with three single beds and feature two bathrooms with a shower or a bath. The chalets are all air-conditioned and each unit boasts a furnished verandah where guests can enjoy their morning coffee before enjoying a lovely breakfast at the restaurant. A three course dinner is also available at an additional cost.

Thanda Nani offers a laundry service and guests can enjoy a cool down in the rock pool, have a drink at the bar, or enjoy the walk-in wine cellar adjacent to the restaurant. Dinners are served in the open restaurant at the lodge or in the boma, situated in a bush area away from the lodge serving set three course meals, which include two meat dishes. Venison and traditional South African dishes are their speciality.

All brides’ needs are catered for with a specialist hair stylist, in-house Somatologist, wedding planner, and make-up specialist. Various options are available and Thanda Nani can also be hired for other events. Day spa packages are available and include a range of treatments, from massages and facials as well as an ozone hydro spa bath.

Kruger National Park game drives are available, as well as visits to the Swazi Cultural Village. Morning and afternoon game drives are available at Thanda Nani at an additional cost. Early morning bush walks from two to three hours are conducted by experienced rangers and can be booked at the lodge. The reserve offers a breeding program where rare and endangered species such as sable and roan antelope are bred before being released on the main reserve. Disease-free buffalo also roam the reserve with over 150 white and black rhinos, making it the largest private collection of rhinos in the world.

Herds of eland, red hartebeest, tssesebe, zebra, giraffe, kudu, impala and Blue wildebeest also roam freely. The more elusive bushbuck, nyala and duiker can also be seen, while baboon, monkey, ostrich and warthog are in abundance. Leopard, jackal and the other smaller cats, such as the serval and genet, are spotted occasionally, while bush babies and over 50 bird species can be found around the lodge.
