Description
Thaba Nkwe, which means ‘mountain of the leopard’, is a private game farm with a wide variety of wild life. The game farm comprises of 300 hectares of bush veld with beautiful ‘koppies’ (hillocks), splendid plant life and hundreds of tree species. Game on the farm include leopard, impala, kudu, wildebeest, zebra, baboons, monkeys, warthog, eland, nag apies, squirrels and a vast array of bird species.
The lodge provides a B and B rate with rooms under magnificent shade trees, where squirrels and other animals are to be seen. Accommodation includes wooden cabins with own private braai (barbecue) facilities, chalets containing en-suite, fully equipped, self-catering accommodation and powered camping sights. The wooden cabins share a very modern ablution amenity situated near the swimming pool. The restaurant, with a leopard theme, is the best in the vicinity and offers the tastiest dishes in the bushveld. The bar is fully licensed and can also be utilized for private functions, weddings and conferences. Guests may relax on the raised wooden deck overlooking the garden and pool. Braai facilities are provided at the swimming pool.
Thaba Nkwe also offers game drives, splendid hiking trails, bird watching and horse riding.
