Tartaruga Beach Resort offers basic, rustic, clean and comfortable accommodation. Situated only 450 km from Maputo and a 30 minutes’ drive from Inhambane, the resort is ideal for those looking for a complete breakaway.

The resort offers six units, all with the basic necessities for a self-catering vacation. The units are built on stilts and designed to be cool and airy, with the best sea views. The veranda is the best place to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the best sunrise in Africa. The resort can only be reached with a 4x4 vehicle which is a challenge and an adventure, and only the brave will reach this best kept secret. If it was easy, it would not be so special.

Our beach bar and restaurant was built on the rocks, as close to the beach as possible and we can, without a doubt, claim to have the bar with the best sea views. A braai area on the deck is also available for bring and braai functions where the restaurant can provide pap, sauce and salad.

Private and secluded, with breathtaking sea views, we are an easy stroll from the beach which offers safe swimming and snorkelling in the rock pools. Our beach is very child friendly and ideal for rock and surf fishermen and sea kayaks. We also have lovely walking trails for the more energetic.
