Swallows Nest

It was very comfortable and we had a very relaxing time.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cute little house which was freshly painted and had all we needed for a home away from home.

The accommodation was comfortable. It is however the first time that I have rented a cottage for the weekend and had to provide my own linen and towels, usually there is a charge for laundry and it is provided. It is also a first having to clean out the fireplace or braai if used but nothing is provided to do this with, no broom, no brush. Dont you think it would be nice to offer a certain amount of wood for the fire as well, it could be at a cost but would be a nice added extra. AND another first is having to dump my own garbage. The rentals are not that cheap, so I honestly dont expect to have to do this. Was a pleasant weekend.

The were disappointed in the house (Swallows Nest) mainly: 1. I know it is self-catering and you are suppose to bring everything you need, but we have stayed in enough places through the years who will at least give you a tiny bit of dishwashing liquid and a sponge with a scourer to clean - especially when a lot of the dishes in the cupboards were dirty to start off with. 2. The over-all impression of the house is that it was dirty. The floors, bathroom and kitchen surfaces were clean but the dirty walls needs a good clean, not to talk about the filthy braai walls. 3. With no hanging space in the loft bedroom, we were forced to live out of our suitcases instead of packing our clothes in the dusty baskets or hanging it over the dusty rails, and unable to clean it not having a dustpan brush, dust cloth etc. Otherwise we were happy with the comfortable mattresses and clean linen and towels (which we paid extra for) and the efficient service of SafariNow.
