Sunway Hotel is situated in the city centre of El Obeid, the capital of the state of North Kurdufan in central Sudan. El Obeid is one of the most arid settlements of major size in Sudan, lying out in the Western Desert. The area is so dry that today's level of population makes water transport to the city necessary for it to survive and yet it is one of the largest cities of Sudan, with the town's importance due to it being the commercial centre of the region. Sunway Hotel is just seven minutes’ drive from the Alobaid Airport and 3 km from the Khartoum Highway.
The hotel features a large garden to relax in and there is also an on-site restaurant that offers international and local cuisine, as well as a coffee shop. Accommodation comprises 16 rooms, eight of which are double rooms and eight of which are single rooms. All rooms contain luxury bathrooms and also feature satellite TV and air-conditioning.
