Description

Staandakkie Guest Cottage is a quaint self-catering cottage located on a working farm, just 15 km from Bredasdorp. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful farm landscape and is a mere 2 km from the historical Milkwood Tree on the farm Rhenosterfontein.

Staandakkie is separate from the main homestead, yet close enough for interaction with your hosts should the urge grab you. Guests also have access to the dairy, and are encouraged to bring bikes along to ride to their hearts' content.

A little house on the prairie

Staandakkie is a lovely little house on the farm of Louis and Vicky, 12 km from Bredasdorp. It is possible to cook in the cottage but we left the kitchenette to warming water for coffee; we ate out. The standard and value for money is great. There is a good braai on the terrace. The owners are friendly. It is a great from which to visit De Hoop Nature Reserve and the coast. We recommend Staandakkie if you enjoy solitude and peace.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at Staandakkie. It is the perfect location if you are taking part in the Voet of Afrika marathon in Bredarsdorp, and super convenient if you want to visit Struisbaai, Agulhas, Arniston and other seaside towns. Vicki and Louis are wonderful hosts and we would definitely visit again.
