Don't miss this B&B,05 July 2007
Absolutely lovely B&B. Derrik is extraordinarily gracious. We booked only one night, but he treated us like long-term guests. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast on the veranda was wonderful. We will be sure to visit again.

We found St. Lucia in general and the Guesthouse to be fantastic. Derick and Hettie are very gracious hosts, the house is beautiful, and the town is very 'user friendly.' We'll definitely return.

Description
Nestled between Lake St. Lucia and the Indian Ocean in the heart of this exquisite World Heritage Site lies St. Lucia Wetlands Guest House. The spacious house offers seven luxury guest rooms while the hosts, Derick and Hettie, reside on the premises in a separate apartment. Scrumptious breakfasts are served in the diningroom or on the smoker's patio overlooking the split-level swimming pool and the surrounding tropical forest. Guest facilities includes a spacious lounge with DS television, and a well stocked licensed bar. All major credit cards welcome. There is secure parking on the premises.
Leisure options within easy reach includes swimming in the warm Indian Ocean all year round, authentic Zulu village tours, bird watchers paradise, hiking, kayaking, horse riding, seasonal whale- and turtle watching, and tranquil cruises to spot hippopotamus and crocodile. Hluhluwe/Umfolozi, one of the oldest game reserves in Africa, where Rhino sightings are the order of the day, is only a fifty kilometer drive away and all restaurants are in close proximity to the guest house.

One of these rooms are situated next to one of the twin rooms and together can be used as a family unit as it has an interleading door.

| The first twin room is furnished with a Queenand a three-quarter bed. Adjourning to the bedroom is a private separate toilet and bathroom, only to be used by the guests occupying the room. The bathroom has a bath as well as a shower.
The second twin room is furnished with a queen size bed and a three-quarter bed, all beds are extra length and has an en-suite bathroom with a shower only.
Both rooms are equipped with a wall safe, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. |
