South Winds

South Winds is a luxury, self-catering, wooden bungalow situated directly on the rocks of Castle Rock Marine Reserve on the Cape Peninsula. The reserve has one of the most beautiful and unspoilt coastlines in South Africa. This piece of paradise is unencumbered by crowds, traffic or pollution and is a favourite spot for discerning locals who cherish the wild magic of the area.While the house gives one the impression of being serenely remote and far from civilisation, it is in fact only 8km from the charming village of Simon’s Town.

South Winds is fully furnished with everything needed for an extended stay. The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, full size fridge with freezer, microwave, kettle & toaster. While there is no television reception, there is a small TV & DVD player available that is suitable for playing DVD's & CD's.The house can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests in 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have one double bed each and one bedroom has twin beds. We supply all bed linen & towels. There is one shared shower room.The house will be serviced prior to your arrival and again on your departure. If your stay exceeds one week, fresh linen & towels will be supplied on a weekly basis. You need only stock up on food and drinks, bring a few good books and your sense of adventure.

We should point out that due to the remote location of the house, South Winds is not connected to the municipal water supply. The house gets its water from a combination of rainwater tanks and storage tanks, fed by a mountain stream. While water is always available, it is a precious resource in the area and should be consumed conservatively. While the water is safe for showering, washing dishes, etc. we recommend that bottled water be used drinking & cooking purposes.South Winds is part of a truly unique setting and is a wonderful venue for a family holiday. Its close proximity to the sea offers magnificent views of False Bay, from point to point.
