Description

Lush fabrics combine with smart styling for an updated Karoo look. The Artist's Cottage facilities comprise a small, fully equipped vintage kitchen, a lounge, dining room, adjoining bedroom with kingsize bed, air-conditioning, heating, mosquito net and storage space, SATV and DVD's. The en-suite bathroom has a long bathtub, walk in shower and hand basin. Percale linen, towels, dressing gowns and slippers provided.

Health breakfast provisions in cottage: muesli, farm yoghurt, fresh fruit, tea and filter coffee with rusks. The cottage sleeps two adults maximum.

Two outdoor terraces, the sunny courtyard terrace leads onto a sheltered lounging area facing pool, main house and large garden. The cottage is serviced once weekly or more on request, laundry service at small extra fee on premises.

Shady parking on a quiet, safe street in front of the cottage. Lovely views of the Koppie, sunsets, easy walking distance to town centre and onto leisure trails in the magnificent Swartberg Pass which is a proclaimed World Heritage site. Regret no credit card facilities, no pets and we require a minimum of two nights' stay.

Character: Gorgeous cottage furnished with imported vintage and South African designer items. Air-conditioner is installed for summer and a cosy wood stove provides heating in winter.

Wellness & Spa: Superb massages, Body Talk and personal yoga lessons available on request, located within 1 to 5 minutes away.

Great Outdoors: Prince Albert lies at the foot the spectacular Swartberg Mountains, a proclaimed World Heritage Site. Magnificent views over valleys and plains. Perfect for cycling and hiking, and the world famous Die Hel is also close by.

Historical & Cultural: Prince Albert boasts unique holbol gables. Queen Victoria never stayed here, instead ghost walks testify to our colourful history. Many South African artists, writers and designers have homes in the village, contributing to its rich cultural life.

Relaxation: Country village atmosphere, quiet starry nights and a tranquil garden. Chill near the pool. Leave your car safely parked before taking a walking tour of the cute antique and coffee shops.

Ecclectic Vibrancy
John White, South Africa
20 April 2008
The Ecclectic vibrancy of colour was an uplifting relief of the miles of barren yet beautiful natural earth tones and colours. Sally was most hospitable and has provided a truly relaxing environment for couples with high international standards, cotton bathrobes, slippers, Mags in a variety of languages, linen spray, fruit, swimming pool tranquil garden space, privacy and bikes to ride through the delightful village of Prince Albert. Overall and excellent stay and we will be back someti ... more
A must place to stay
nick roberts, United Kingdom
04 March 2008
It is almost impossible to describe this cottage , Prince Albert is a great place to stay and well worth including on an itinerary. We have stayed in cottages etc around the world but can truly say that this is a place we will never forget. The design features were outstanding and every item has obviously been carefully considered. Sally was very friendly and showed us around her own house which would/does grace style or design magazines. Truly a must place to stay if in area
