You wont want to leave!
Our stay was exceptional from start to finish. After an amazing boat trip we arrived at the lodge which was even better than we could have imagined with every attention to detail. The game drives were brilliant, food and beverages superb - stay for at least two nights or longer - you wont want to leave! Very special compliments to our game ranger Mark.

Sibuya - most unique of safari experiences
Our two nights in Sibuya exceeded our wildest expectations. The most friendly of staff, unique habitat and surprisingly child friendly (for our 5 year old). Would highly recommend Sibuya to anyone wishing to escape from the land crusier hoards that we found at other game reserves.

Idyllic setting
Our weekend at Sibuya was one of the purest forms of escapism that we have had the pleasure of being able to experience for a very long time. The setting was idyllic, the staff were extremely friendly and very good at their job - they obviously enjoy what they are doing - the tents were very well appointed, very comfortable and with a subtle touch of luxury. We didn't go on all the game drives but then we are privileged enough to have spent many days in the bush so for us it was all ... more

Description
The “under canvas” experience at Sibuya Game Reserve is a completely unique experience as Sibuya is the only South African Game Reserve where access is exclusively by boat via the stunningly beautiful Kariega River. Guests are collected at the river mouth (The River is an Estuary) in the small town of Kenton on Sea, where safe parking is provided, and the unique experience starts immediately with a gentle cruise up the Estuary to the game reserve 9 kms upstream. After settling in to the accommodation – luxury en-suite tents on raised wooden decks- guests are able to map out their own programme with their guide. Our camps, with only 4 tents in our River Camp and 8 in our Forest Camp, result in an exclusive and personalised experience. A mixture of game drives, river cruises, guided bush or beach walks, and excellent birding, will enthrall those with a desire to fill the day, whilst hammocks in the trees or a fishing line dangling in the water will suit those who wish to take it easy. For the really energetic canoeing, deep-sea fishing, can all be provided at extremely reasonable rates. But what makes this a truly memorable experience is the unequalled splendour of the vistas as one views game against the magnificent backdrop of pristine coastal forest and the sea a few kilometres away. Completing the “under canvas” experience are the tranquil evenings around the campfire listening to the lapping waters in the river and the night calls of the bush while feasting on our superb cuisine. In true bush camp tradition all the distractions are removed as the absence of electricity ensures the experience is not spoilt by the sounds of modern society. We offer Under 12's 50% disc and Under 6's 70% disc if sharing with parents. Our Forest Camp does not take children under 12 as it is not child friendly where as our River Camp is child friendly. Professional guides and an abundance of game and birds, including 4 of the Big 5, will leave you saying (“Sibuya”) we will return.
