Sausage Tree Bush Camp

Description

Set in the Balule Nature Reserve, Sausage Tree Bush Camps promises rich game viewing and spectacular views, as our boundary with Kruger National Park is open and the Northern Drakensberg Mountains form a majestic back drop. These family-owned and operated safari camps pride themselves on their warm atmosphere with a choice of either African safari tented or historic farm house accommodation.

Our unassuming camps promise an intimate nature experience in a relaxing environment where you can unwind, kick your shoes off and be yourself. Enjoy lantern lit dinners in our boma or open deck under the star studded African sky. Breakfast and lunch is served on open decks with views the bush and water holes frequented by a variety of resident animals.

Sunrise and sunset safari’s in open 4 x 4 vehicles are the highlights of the day, with our professional field guides visitors can go in search of some of Africa’s famous variety of mammal and bird life, such as Giraffe, Zebra, African Fish Eagles, Vultures and the notorious Big 5 – Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo. On nature walks our armed trails guides will focus on some of the less noticeable aspects of the bush such as the Rhinoceros Beetle and how to make rope from a Raisin Bush.

At Sausage Tree Bush Camps we strive towards being exclusive and affordable at the same time. Both our camps can only accommodate eight visitors respectively, thus ensuring a very personal experience at an affordable price.

Sausage Tree Tented Safari Camp : The 4 Safari-styled tents are nestled in between Marula, Knobthorn Acacia and Sausage Trees and overlooks a dry river bed and Northern Drakensberg Mountains. Each tent is fully furnished and has its own private deck and en-suite bathroom with both a bath and outdoor shower.

Fans in each tent will ensure that you stay cool during those warm summer nights. Insect gauze on all the windows and doors ensures that insects stay outside where they belong.

In the main reception area visitors will find a lounge for those lazy afternoons, and a dining area that keeps visitors dry when it rains. There is a cosy bar complete with a variety of first class South African wines.

On the open deck outside there is a sunken swimming pool and fireplace where visitors can enjoy those magical African nights. During the day the deck has unrivalled views of the surrounding bush, dry river bed, water hole and mountains in the background.

Sausage Tree Tented Safari Camps resident staff will ensure that everyone has a memorable stay and becomes part of our continually growing family.

Excellent Stay!
Ursula Bietenhader, Switzerland
16 April 2010
We had a wonderful relaxing time with friends in the bush. The boma and the tents are well equipped and clean, the pool was fun and the view is stunning. We didn't see many animals on the game drives because of the bad weather, but the bush walk was great. The staff was very friendly and they do their job with enthusiasm. Good value for money! Would recommend it highly!
Sausage Tree Bush Camp is a real nice concept

We loved the concept of having one central place to eat, swim and sit around the fire and having 4 luxury tents in the garden to sleep. The place is ideal for 6 to 8 friends or famiiy. We loved the tranquility of the bush!
