Less than 2 hours drive from Gauteng and situated in the malaria free area of the Waterberg mountains, this privately owned reserve offers peace and tranquillity in an environment rich in animal, bird and plant life.

With a large variety of game and over 300 species of birds identified, Sambane Private Reserve also plays host to two of Africa’s big 5 namely white rhino as well as leopard.

The natural surroundings also include an array of identified indigenous flora typical of the Waterberg region with the attraction of antbear, or ‘Sambane’ in Zulu.

Accommodation is provided in three different camps catering for the specific needs of different travellers.

The Waterhole camp is situated within easy reach from the main lodge and comes fully furnished with all amenities to provide in your comfort. With a unique outside shower and themed interior, the rooms sleep two with en suite bathroom.

The camp has five chalets and has its own kitchen with dining area, lapa and swimming pool.

The Private Chalets are situated some distance from the main lodge in secluded privacy and provide in every wish for the self catering enthusiast.

Complete with double en suite bedrooms, equipped kitchenette, private boma and its own splash pool.

Savanna Camp is also situated within easy reach of the main lodge but ensures adequate privacy. The camp comprises double bedrooms and a separate kitchen and bathroom with a semi open air shower.

A host of activities provided for includes guided game drives, guided and unguided walks, birding and mountain biking. Nearby activities includes fishing, golf, big 5 game drives and walks, nature courses, survival courses, a Pedi village experience, scenic helicopter flights and more.
