All six of the suites open to the garden, the centre of which is a huge wild fig tree. This tree is well over a hundred years old, and gives the lodge its own ambience of peace and protection.
Guests are welcome to relax in the garden around the fish pond, to use the splash pool and to enjoy drinks on the shaded verandah or in the guest lounge in the hundred year old section of the lodge.
Jams, warm bread, fresh muffins, muesli, all home-made, contribute to a delightful breakfast. Dinners which are by arrangement are an outstanding highlight of a visit to Saint du Barrys. Guests return regularly to enjoy Joan’s preparation of the freshest ingredients in ways that enhance their natural flavors.
Having drinks on the patio or at the fish-pond in the late afternoon, watching the light change from gold to pink to dark-blue is a favorite past-time of guests. Saint du Barrys is fully licensed and good wines are available.
