We were pleasantly surprised with the Lodge - beautifully done rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and all the facilities we were able to access. The owner/s was very friendly and informative. Will definite return (if the need ever arises) and will recommend to friends and colleagues.

The Lodge is well positioned in a quiet suburban road with easy access to the beach and main roads. We were most pleasantly surprised at the decor and facilities - we had everything we needed. Our hosts made us feel at home.

The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Rather cold but then the weather outside was extremely cold. We would prefer to have an entire unit ourselves as some other guys arrived and used two of the rooms. However, they did not interfere with our side, but if we had needed complete privacy this would not have suited us. Great for a large family. However, we found the owners friendly and they provided an adequate breakfast. For a one night stay it was very good.

Ruxmian Lodge is centrally situated in the Strand on the shores of False Bay. A mere 48 km from Cape Town and 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. We are surrounded by the stunning Helderberg and Hottentots Holland Mountain Range. The Strand has a pristine safe beach of white sand and about 4 km long.
The Lodge offers 4 tastefully furnished rooms with 3 bathrooms, one bedroom en suite and a one bedroom flat. Facilities include a relaxed lounge, loft/TV room with DSTV, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, air conditioning in all the rooms, undercover entertainment and braai area, secure parking. Catering services are available on request.
New additions to the Lodge is 2 Honesty bars, 1 at the entertainment area and 1 in the lounge at the Fire PLACE.
Things to do include: the Helderberg Nature Reserve, hiking trails, wine routes, swimming, surfing, kite surfing, fishing on shore and off shore, 4 golf clubs, restaurants, scenic routes, and shopping malls all within minutes from the lodge.
The coast between the Lourens river mouth up to Rooi Els is very popular with beach fisherman and rock anglers, whilst organished and social diving activities beckon the more adventurous.
