Rubondo Island Camp

Rubondo Island Camp is an exclusive lakeside property situated on Rubondo Island, the largest island national park in Africa. Eight luxury suites are sheltered under huge trees and a short stroll from the sandy shore.

The former camp has been renovated with comfortable, upmarket facilities. An elevated outcrop of rocks amid scattered trees provides the perfect setting for the new dining and lounge area, offering views of the lake and bay. The large swimming pool is surrounded by a deck and located close to the beach and common area.

The pristine, untouched forest of Rubondo Island covers 80 % of the land, a habitat of rare creatures such as the wild chimpanzee and the majestic elephant and giraffe who are dwarfed by ancient trees.

Amid the leaves and towards the lake shore, you will find the elusive sitatunga antelope hiding in the papyrus swamp, while the hippos crash through the shallows where the crocodiles lie and wait.

Rubondo Island lies in the southwest corner of the famous Lake Victoria, the second largest lake in the world.
