  • The views from the property are breathtaking and one can hike in complete safety. Wildlife abounds on the property. © Copyright Christine Lamberth
  • The Lounge in the Main Lodge is cosy and inviting. The view from the Lounge is of the Isandlwana Battlefield and Fugitives Drift. Rorke's Drift is just tucked out of sight. There is satellite television, a dvd player, a wonderfully efficient fireplace in the winter, a comprehensive library with books about South Africa and the Battles of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift. Guests can make themselves comfortable here. © Copyright Christine Lamberth
  • A very romantic double room with views to die for. Secluded and very private this room has a deck outside for those hot summer evenings. The bathroom is on the lower level and the bedroom on the upper level. The bathroom has been dubbed the
  • This is the second bedroom of the Kune suite. While being quite private for the evenings where an interleading door can be closed the unit is not private for daytime use.
  • A twin en-suite room Kutatu is especially suited for people who don't want to walk through the gardens to get to their room. Located on the Main Lodge the room still has a private entrance and a picture window to watch the birds early in the morning. A spacious en-suite shower that is private completes the picture © Copyright Christine Lamberth
  • This is a view from the gardens of the Lodge. On a clear day we can see for more than 50km's over the battlefield of Isandlwana and the Fugitive's Drift Trail. Photographs do not do this view justice. © Copyright Christine Lamberth
  • Dinner at Rorke's Drift Lodge has become an experience. Our Chef/Manager Charles Hickman who has worked in Vancouver, Manchester, San Diego and La Costa Resort and Spa in California is now gracing us with his presence in our kitchens. He can conjure up desserts to die for and you will find his meals memorable. © Copyright Christine Lamberth
  • You can land a helicopter in the Lodge grounds where it will be safe.

My wife and I stayed for 3 weeks in south Africa travelling up to KwaZula - Natal and back along the Garden route to Capetown via Port Elizebeth. We stayed in many very pleasent B&B's, but I have to say that Rorkes Drift Lodge was one of the best experiences. Although perhaps not the most luxurious accommodation in the world, the views and feeling of remoteness were something that we will remember for a very long time. Paul and Christine made us very welcome in their home and joined us and the other guests for dinner each evening. Paul's knowledge of the battle fields is very extensive and we left much the wiser. A great value venue and well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful few days at Rorke's Drift Lodge. Lodge is simply furnished, has a wonderful view of Isandlwana and Zululand valleys. Food was good and different. We enjoyed Paul's guiding and his humour. Christine and Paul run a tight ship.

Our stay at Rorke's Drift was absolutely fantastic! I would recommend it to anyone and would definitely go there again! Paul and Christine are very hospitable and run an excellent lodge with a home feeling! Definitely value for money! Only bad side is the road leading to the lodge (although we were warned about it)
