Rooidam Cottage

Rooidam Cottage is the ideal stop-over between Gauteng and the Cape Peninsula because we are situated on the halfway-mark of the N12 and only 1 km off the road.

The three star Self-catering accommodation consist of two cottages with basically the same layout, kitchenette with an adjacent room with two single beds and a main sleeping room with a double bed. The cottages are close to the homestead but private enough. Cottage 1 has a full en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. Cottage 2 has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet. The units are neat, clean, and spacious.

Everything you should need is inside. We offer safe parking under a net (plus outside plug for fridges), walking, swimming, tennis, bird watching, braai-facilities and bright star-nights. Come and enjoy the space and silence of a Karoo-farm.

Go for a walk to unwind and experience the tranquil sunsets. You will be changed after a visit to our world.

For nature lovers we can arrange as additional extra the following: A night drive with a spotlight to look for rare nocturnal animals of the Karoo (aardvark, porcupine, blackfoot wildcat, etcetera. A trip to the nesting site of a pair of black eagles on top of a mountain and view them close-by in flight. Rates for above can be arranged once booking secured.
