Description

Röhrs Farm Guesthouse is a spacious country house situated 17 km west of Piet Retief on the R543/Wakkerstroom/Volksrust road, in a foresty and mountainous landscape.

The peace and quiet, tranquility and stunning views are some of the things that make guests want to come back again. Guests are awakened by birdsong and can enjoy breakfast in the spacious sitting and dining room, on the verandah with lovely views, or in our well kept garden with wide open spaces. All rooms are spacious, each with a private entrance. All rooms are equipped with fans, heaters, filtered fountain water and tea and coffee trays with electric kettles.

Heyshopedam is near and Swaziland lies about 50 km away. Wakkerstroom, famous for paragliding and its beautiful wetland birdwatching reserve, is 69 km onwards. For people travelling between the Kruger National Park and KwaZulu-Natal or the Indian Ocean, our guest house is the perfect place to sleep over or relax for a few days. Enjoy peace and quiet, lovely views and the abundant bird life on our farm.

Had a very pleasant stay and great dinner and breakfast,even though there was a misunderstanding around the food booking the owner still went out of her way to accommodate us.

Sehr gastfreundliches, gemütliches Gasthaus mit reichhaltigem und leckerem Frühstück. Die außergewöhnlich lange Entfernung zur Innenstadt Piet Retief (ca. 16km) wird in jeder Weise belohnt. Die Gastgeber sind deutschen Ursprungs, und pflegen deutsche Kultur. In allen Belangen eine Unterkunft, die uneingeschränkt und wärmstens weiter empohlen werden kann.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay at Röhrs Farm Guesthouse. The owners were very friendly and very helpful. With a bonus of clean fresh air and a lovely view of the farm and the surroundings. Will definitely make use of them again. Thank you!

Very spacious and comfortable self-catering accommodation. Very quiet with a wonderful clear night sky. Due to distance from Piet Retief, added approx 65 km to the overall journey as we drove into Mama Mia for supper in the evening. One suggestion for improvement is to provide a guest tray for tea and coffee etc, as in our case it was not worth having to unpack our vehicle for a cuppa!

We were three girls staying overnight on the farm. It was really clean and beautifully presented. The beds were soft and fragrant. There was a nice cottage-like feel to the whole place. The owners were friendly and non intrusive, even getting up late to receive us. There was a lot of clean towels and a sprig of lavender on each of our beds. We would love to return.
