River Ridge is situated in the beautiful Natal Midlands, where peace, fresh mountain air and a unique experience await you. Located at the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg mountains of KwaZulu-Natal, River Ridge is ideally situated just four hours' drive from Johannesburg and 1.5 hour’s drive from Durban.

The free-standing cottage comprises one bedroom, a lounge, dining room, full bathroom, and a verandah with stunning mountain and river views. River Ridge can accommodate up to four guests in a king-size bed and a sleeper couch in the lounge area. The cottage also features a TV with DStv and carport parking is also available.

We had a wonderful stay at River Ridge.. beautiful big house with 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and even a kiddies jungle gym, sand pit and swings. Just give yoursleves a good 30 to 40 minutes to get there from Notties as the dirt road is rather tricky. Sizwe is an absolute star!

Quite a drive on a lengthy dirt road, but it's a wonderful place at a good price and by all means worth the dirt road! We had a wonderful stay.

We satyed at river ridge cottage the weekend of the 11th may. The location is beautiful and the cottage would have been great if we could have kept warm. The fireplace was great so long as thew wind didn't blow, the moment there was a gust of wind the fire place spewd copious amounts of smoke into the room. The choice was either freeze or smell like you lived in a kaya. On the other side the heater in the beadroom while working well develops a knocking noise after about 10min, sounding like a minature jackhammer. The effect here is you cannot not keep the heater on over night so tend to get properly cold around 3am. I enjoyed my trip, think that the venue was great and would come back, but not before confirming that the fireplace works properly and that the heater has been replaced. If we had been there in winter I would most certainly have left early and demanded a refund. It is always the little details that can make or break a spectacular weekend.
