Description

River Hill Lodge is a small private lodge located in a natural bushveld environment on the Komati River. The conference centre, bar lounge and swimming pool provide spectacular views of the Komati River, golf course and Kruger National Park. We offer our guests a brand of hospitality which we believe is special and unique in many ways.

The five Lodge Chalets are air-conditioned with upmarket furnishings, queen-size beds, twin beds, full bathrooms with Victorian-style slipper baths and under-cover wooden decks. These chalets are not self-catering but do have tea and coffee facilities and bar fridges.

The two Self-catering Chalets are along the same lines as the Lodge Chalets. These units are fully equipped and have three air-conditioned bedrooms. The main bedrooms are all equipped with queen-size beds, single beds and full en-suite bathrooms. The remaining two bedrooms are equipped with single beds and share the second bathroom. There are two extra beds in the lounge, which also offers DStv. Each unit has its own braai area.

The glass conference centre is nestled in the bush and it offers air-conditioning. It is fully equipped for up to 20 delegates. Meals are either served in the open or stone dining rooms. Larger groups can choose to have a braai in our boma where the night sky is your ceiling.

We offer professionally guided tiger fishing trips and tours to the Kruger National Park, Swaziland, Maputo and the escarpment; advance booking is essential. We can also arrange elephant rides, microlight flights, quad biking and horse riding.

Conference Venues: We have an air-conditioned glass conference venue in a bushveld environment with access to necessary conferencing facilities for up to 20 delegates.

I enjoyed my stay its a beautiful and relaxably placed.

10 July 2014

The owners of River Hill Lodge are very welcoming and have provided very comfortable, well appointed rooms. The bar area and pool has a beautiful view over the river. The units are all situated on or very near a railway line, and are only 500m from the N4 highway, so traffic and train noise is quite substantial. We were in lodge/room 3 which has the Jojo tank situated just behind it, during the day one is not very aware of the pump noise or the filling of the Jojo, but at night, every time anyone in the resort uses water, there is a very distinct noise of water swooshing into the Jojo tank (sounds like a toilet being flushed) combined with the whine of the pump while it switches on to fill the Jojo. It is possible that the noise from the Jojo does not affect the other units. While it is a comfortable stay, the noise factor would prevent us from returning.
Establishment's Response:
This time of year when the wind blows from the N4 highway the heavy traffic to the Border can be noisy. The pressure pump which the guests also found to be a problem has already been resolved. The on/off of the pump was due to a very bad leak at a pipe fitting. Normally the pump very seldom goes on after 10:00pm because it only comes on after guests use water and by then most people are asleep. We apologise for this inconvenience.

17 June 2014

River Hill Lodge was one of the most welcoming accommodation visited by me and my hubby. We were overwhelmed by the hostility received. Big up to Carol and Richard keep it up guys. What a wonderful place they have. Peaceful and clean. Good break away from home.

07 January 2013

We stayed over at the lodge on 20/12/2012 on the way to Mozambique and again on 4/01/2013 on the way back home and had a great experience on both occasions. The hospitality is fantastic and the rooms are excellent. Richard and Michelle really know how to put their guests at ease on their break during the long journey.

03 January 2011

We stayed there for three nights. The place is really beautiful. The service was awesome. I will be going back this year.
