Port Alfred offers most of the necessary shopping facilities within walking distance of Riders Rest and abounds with numerous bistros, restaurants, street café’s and pubs to satisfy most taste buds. Take a brisk 800 m walk to miles and miles of pristine beaches, which are ideal also for sand boarding, surfing and fishing, or spend your day on Port Alfred’s Blue Flag beach with all amenities and safety for family fun just 3 kms from Riders Rest. Bird watching, horse riding, hiking trails, game drives, golf, tennis, water skiing and squash are all available within a 15 km radius of Riders Rest. We can also assist in organising excursions up the Kowie River, with barbecue packs and picnic baskets available on request.

After a full day’s outdoor activity of your choice, return to the tranquility of Riders Rest Bed and Breakfast where your comfortable accommodation in one of three double luxury bedrooms is guaranteed to recharge your batteries. Each bedroom is en-suite with a slipper bath and shower. The luxurious beds invite a cosy night's rest and each room has its own entrance off the delightful farm-style verandah. All our rooms are equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities and a TV with local channels. Linked DStv is also available.
