Riad Maison Bleue occupies a 19th century house that once belonged to Moulay Bel Arbi El Alaoui - an eminent judge and professor of theology. A famous Moroccan philosopher, Aziz Lahbabi was also born and raised in this house.
Today it serves as the second guest house restored and run by the El Abbadi family and consists of three interconnecting houses which create an intimate and romantic atmosphere. The 18 suites are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, heating, telephones, televisions, Internet access, minibars, iPod docks and room safes. We have a restaurant, private spa, well-equipped gym, relaxing terraces and two intimate bars which radiate an air of discreet luxury.
The main courtyard, with its swimming pool and lush garden, is surrounded by three deluxe rooms and a Moorish salon with a guest computer. Here you will be welcomed upon arrival with a bowl of orange-blossom scented milk and almond-stuffed dates.
Further accommodation is located in The Pavilion of the Astrolabes. This house is a contemplative space with ornate plasterwork offset by galleries of carved wooden latticework. The furniture is an eclectic mix of antiques, retro and specially designed modern pieces which work together in fashionable harmony. The Pavilion of the Astrolabes can be rented in its entirety for larger groups wanting private accommodation.
Three terraces offer breathtaking views of the different aspects of the Medina. During the warmer months, meals are served on the terraces and during winter the covered courtyard restaurant provides a cosier alternative.
The Maison Bleue Spa is dedicated to your well-being. Using traditional methods, the spa and hammam creates a world of tranquility and rejuvenation. Begin with deep cleansing with our sauna and exfoliating body scrub, followed by a massage using exotic aromatic oils and scents such as rose water, amber, musk or orange blossom. These fragrances and traditional methods come together to create an atmosphere that fosters corporal relaxation and emotional harmony.
