Description
Under the extending shadow of Entabeni Rock, you will find open grasslands surrounded by majestic mountains, natural rock formations and verdant bush. There is an abundance of waterfalls, springs, crystal clear mountain pools and streams. Entabeni offers not only guided walks and game drives but also bush picnics and dinners enjoyed in magical surroundings and bush venues, especially at Boekenhout and the breathtaking Hanglip view point.
Ravineside Lodge comprises tranquil thatched wooden lodges on stilts with bird’s eye-views. Each lodge has 3 or 4 luxury en suite bedrooms with an African ethnic theme. A private open-plan lounge and bar area extends to the open sundecks. From here the guests can indulge in bird and game watching and experience the beauty of the ravine with the rippling sound of water far down in the valley.
Enjoy dinners by candlelight in our popular Serengeti Restaurant that offers international cuisine, or relax under the Wild Fig at the pool and boma overlooking the grass plains nearby, which always offer superb game viewing. Ravineside Lodge has undeniable appeal and a character of its own.
Ravineside caters for all. However, more emphasis is placed on traditional Southern African cuisine with dishes ranging from Cape Malay to Pioneer cooking methods accompanied by fresh garden produce and traditional rural African dishes married with European style.
Meals are not restricted to the restaurant as Ravineside also has the beautiful 'Serengeti plain' at its front door. On warmer sunny days, meals are served in the garden overlooking the plain and the animals. These meals range from specialised buffets to plated meals, all prepared to perfection.
Boma dinners include the more traditional 'potjies' and barbeques so well loved in South Africa. The chef prepares the meal in full view of the guests for that added feeling of personalised service and participation in the event. Because of Entabeni's superb geography a variety of outside venues are available to complement that special meal. These venues are available on request or are often used as a surprise for the guests. Dining at one of these locations enhances the guests already enjoyable stay at Entabeni Game Reserve.
A private open-plan lounge and bar area extends to the open sundecks. From here the guests can indulge in bird and game watching and experience the beauty of the ravine with the rippling sound of water far down in the valley.
