Description
Quaggasfontein Private Nature Reserve is a private game reserve where wildlife and their environment are as important to us as our guests. We are proud of the tame nature of the wild animals and strive vigorously to maintain this state of affairs in order that game may be viewed and photographed in their natural habitat at close range. The landscape consists mainly of vast open plains interspersed with numerous hillocks, hills and plateaus with magnificent stone outcrops.
Quaggasfontein is currently home to two of the Big 5 game types that exist wild in Africa, namely the White rhino and the buffalo. Other species to be found include springbok, Red hartebeest, Blue wildebeest, Black wildebeest, eland, letchwe, Mountain zebra, impala, sable, warthog, Mountain reedbuck, Common reedbuck, aardwolf, aardvark, caracal, and ostrich.
Guest accommodation comprises double bedroom suites, each with a private bathroom with a bath or a shower. A guest suite with an adjoining room are situated adjacent to the Manor House, making it an ideal family room. Between the Manor House and the Cottage, is a separate suite, adjacent to the swimming pool and the pool bar and games room.
On-site activities include daily game drives, game walks, tennis, swimming, darts, table tennis, pool table, croquet, visits to the von Plettenberg beacon site, star-gazing, and visits to the Bushman rock etchings.

Just 70 m from the Manor House is a completely self-contained cottage containing three suites. Two of the suites contain en-suite bathrooms and there is another bathroom opposite the third bedroom. The Cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room together with a patio and outside barbecue facilities. Although the Cottage offers full self-catering facilities, most guests choose to dine at the Manor House for purposes of convenience.

The lodge has been restored with an emphasis on natural materials and features a lapa and barbecue area some 10 m from an often-frequented waterhole, with a stone wall surrounding the lodge allowing up-close game-viewing.
