Description

Imvubu lodge, meaning hippo in Zulu, was inspired by the famous "Huberta the Hippo" who undertook the historic journey from Zululand to East London. Tucked away in the lush greenbelt zone of Richards Bay, we are adjacent to the scenic Lake Menywa and the unspoilt beaches of the Indian Ocean.

The lodge is conveniently located on a 20 hectare property with a wildlife sanctuary surrounding it, and is within close proximity to the Tuzi Gazi Waterfront, the International heritage site of Lake St Lucia and two world-class game reserves boasting the Big 5. Imvubu Lodge is also close to the CBD as well as the Richards Bay airport.

The accommodation offers luxurious one and two bedroom chalets, both self-catering and non self-catering. The single self catering chalet can sleep two people and double chalets can accommodate up to five people. All our self-catering chalets are fully-equipped with everything you need for a well-deserved break or just a good nights rest. Each chalet is secluded and is equipped with air-conditioning, DStv and braai facilities.

Our stay at Imvubu Lodge was a pleasant surprise! The environment is stunning, the service from personnel were outstanding, the accommodation was excellent and we would have loved to stay over a little bit longer. However you will definitely see us in future!!!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Imvubu Lodge this past weekend. Because I have trouble walking there was a cabin with not one step and what a pleasure that was. It was beautiful, and refreshing to be there among the most wonderful big trees I have ever seen. The restaurant was also excellent with Francois being the best executive chef ever and friendly attentive waiters. Perfect
