Protea Hotel Ranch Resort is situated on 1000 hectares of malaria free grasslands and Limpopo bushveld, 25 km south of Polokwane, only 2 hours North of Pretoria and less than 3 hours from Johannesburg. The Ranch Resort is a friendly, family owned hotel and a member of the Protea Hotels group. The Shearer family have run the establishment for over 51 years ago with a vision of creating a comprehensive family hotel and function centre consistently offering great service and superb value. Over the years, under Tom’s personal supervision and that of his family, that dream has been realised, Tom, his wife Vicki and son’s Ryan and Paul are very involved in the day to day operation of the hotel and Tom’s passion for service has driven him to build a team of dedicated, professional and friendly staff.

We have over 140 rooms, ranging from two unique presidential suites and four executive suites, each boasting their own courtyard and spa pool, 20 five star self-catering chalets overlooking the majestic golf course, to four-star deluxe rooms with double or twin beds, and family and standard rooms with a choice of single, double, king or twin beds. All rooms are safe, secure and en-suite with satellite television, air-conditioning or fans and for your personal security, mini safes. Room service is available 18 hours a day. Free Wi-Fi wireless internet is also available.

The resort is set in tranquil gardens with rolling lawns and glorious flowers. In addition to the resorts beauty is the 12 hole par three executive golf course, features include the golf academy run by resident Pro Shaun Pappas and the course has been designed in such a way that the whole family can enjoy it. The hotel has three restaurants, a superb bar, superb conference facilities, its own beautiful chapel and so much more, including our own airstrip. Basil’s Restaurant is renowned for its food festivals which attracts patrons from near and far. The poolside lapa is available for guests and functions.
