Pleasant Places

Pleasant Places is as it says - very pleasant It's comfortable, pretty and very good food!

'The only man who behaved sensibly was my tailor; he took my measurement anew every time he saw me, while all the rest went on with their old measurements and expected them to fit me.'(George Bernard Shaw). This is a very apt description of the experience we as a family had at Pleasant Places. John and Linda have managed to create a unique experience for the weary travelers. Following months of business and other setbacks, my family and I arrived at PP with a wish to rejuvenate, relax and enjoy the Country. We have received so MUCH MORE. Dinners consists of Excellent Food, in the class of Specialist Restaurants, a treat to the palate. There were little things, like a clean car every day, a subtle wise word, outstanding wine at very, very reasonable prices which made the experience so much more rewarding. We have stayed in so many very fine establishments before with outstanding service and cuisine, this time we however felt that these specific 'tailors' have taken our measurements anew and for that we are so grateful and impressed. PS - John did an outstanding cousine job even with the smallest member (Andrea) of our family with desert in the form of Rooimuis (read Roomys or Ice Cream). Ask for this - it is a treat.

John and Linda both gave us a wonderful 2 nights at Pleasant Places. They were friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely brilliant and dinner was definitely worth having. We showed an interest in going for a walk on our full day there and before we knew it we were being escorted by Sydney (what a lovely lad) on a two and a half hour walk in the most fantastic countryside. We will definitely go back if we have the opportunity and we are certainly recommending it to friends. Do please send John and Linda best wishes from Scotland from Ken and Claudia

Had a wonderful stay, was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful views especially sunrise from the room. Would have preferred a bath and a slightly larger room, which we will make sure to book next time a little earlier. Lovely hosts John and Linda, really heartly breakfasts, and good location.
