This luxurious lodge is nestled in the heart of the Bushveld, between Northam and Thabazimbi. It is a mere three-hour drive from Johannesburg. The lodge has a romantic ambiance and a calm, tranquil atmosphere. The peace and quiet creates the perfect setting for a total relaxation experience. In English, the word Phakela means “The morning”.

Each chalet is finished in 5 Star luxury. There is a large patio leading onto the lounge and bedroom through fold-up French doors. All rooms are air-conditioned and we offer tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as mineral water. Adding to the total luxury of the Chalets are the his and hers bathrooms, which open onto the beautiful outdoor shower. This is in the seclusion of your own private Chalet so you can bathe under the stars.

Phakela Private Lodge is only 75 km from Sun City, which is one of South Africa’s most popular destinations. It is also close to the Pilansberg Game Reserve and Marekele National Park. As we can accommodate no more than 12 people in six separate Chalets, Phakela Private Lodge is an intimate venue for groups, friends and honeymooners.
